About me......

My name is Michelle Overstreet, and this is my second year to be teaching second grade. I'm so excited about you being part of my family, and me being part of yours.

This is my fifth year teaching, but it is my fourth year year to be part of the RIDER family!! I taught in Marshall County for one year, and then was blessed to be able to come to Symsonia and fulfill my dreams! I graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelors Degree in Learning and Behavior Disorders with an emphasis in Elementary Education in 2010. I began my career in Marshall County as a special education teacher, and then came to Symsonia to teach special education for two years. I then interviewed to be a second grade teacher. The wait was intense, but I was hired to teach second grade and my dreams became reality.  I received my Masters Degree from University of the Cumberlands in Reading and Writing Specialist in May of 2013. I am now pursuing my Rank I in Teacher Leadership, and will be completing this chapter of my life in May 2015(hopefully)!

I have been married to Ronnie for 10 years. Ronnie and I live in the Symsonia School District with our three children: Emma who is 8, Lillian who is 7, and Briar who is 5. We enjoying spending time at the ballpark, camping with my parents, going to Beacon Dragway, and just having FUN!!!
